2024 was fun. The Dodgers won the world series (sorry Jorge) and I played lots of video games! Here’s a ranked list of them.

10. Marvel Rivals

Really scratching that old Overwatch itch

9. Palworld

The fact that this game made me double the RAM on my server just so we could play shows there was something special here

8. Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door

Played most of this on my Nintendo Steam Deck!

7. Call of Duty Black Ops 6

Call of booty is back on the menu!

6. Silent Hill 2 Remake

Never finished the original so it was nice to revisit the quietest of hills again

5. Star Wars Outlaws

This might be the prettiest looking game I’ve ever played. Combine that with a Star Wars backdrop and you have yourself an instant classic. Right? Oh yeah too bad the internet hates women…

4. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle

The fact that I’m playing an Indiana Jones game in 2024 is an accomplishment in its own. The game is fucking good. And so is Troy Baker.

3. Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown

Was holding out playing this because I thought I needed a break from Metroidvanias. I was so wrong. The thing that sucks about playing this game is that after you bounce off the walls and perform a crazy ass combo to take out a gang of enemies, there’s no one around to give you a round of applause 🙁

2. Balatro

THIS WAS SPECIAL. Road tripping in the RV through the national parks with this game on my steam deck was pure bliss. Shoutout to Jan (GiantBomb) for putting this on my radar.

1. Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree

There was never a doubt this was going to be my number 1. Erdtree was more of the same and it was fucking beautiful.
